¿Sabes qué es la empatía?

Extraído del libro What Management Is: How It Works and Why It's Everyone's Business, de Joan Magretta, encuentro en el blog de Jorge Juan Fernández esto:

One Harvard Business School class became a word-of-mouth legend many years ago because it tackled the subject of managing people in an unusual way. Some 85 first-year students, sectionmates who go through the entire first year together, were debating with characteristic vigor the options open to the manager-protagonist of the day's case. The students sit in semicircular rows in an amphitheater-like setting. The professor in the pit this day was himself something of a legend for toughness.

"What would you do?" - the professor asks.

A student volunteers. "Fire him".
Silence. Then, looking the young man in the eye, the professor says: "I'd like you to leave my class. Pick up your books and get out of here".

"What?" - the students asks, visibly confused.
"Get out. You are no longer part of my class. I don't want to see you again. Just get out of here".

There was an uncomfortable silence in the room. The student gathered his belongings and began to make his way up the aisle toward the exit.

"Come back and sit down. Now you know what it feels like to be fired".

Paquito.
